BA on Shelf 2I know, I know.  I vanished.  I’m sorry.  I was trying to do too much and I hit internet overload.

However, I am back.  I have a new blogging plan, a backlog of stuff to post about, new pictures on the iPhone and a bunch of new projects going on.

Lessee, what’s been going on while I’ve been gone?

BITTER ANGELS hit the shelves.

I got featured on John Scalzi’s The Big Idea

I became a member of Book View Cafe.

I once again bought a new Sony eReader.  Review to follow.

Oh, and I found this on the internet.  This proves that there are people out there who have WAY too much time on their hands.  Ladies and Gentlemen: the Star Trek Barbershop Quartet

Go. Boldly

LogicSo, last night, we got the sitter and my DH and I went off to see STAR TREK.

When I first heard about the impending reboot, I was worried.  Extremely worried.  In fact, I was torn between annoyed (so, like, nobody’s got any NEW ideas?) and frightened (they’re going to SO screw up my favorite show!).

But, then I started watching the trailers posted over at BookSpot Central and first I began to hope.  Then, I began to get excited.

And it really lived up to both my hopes and my expectations.

The new actors really nailed their parts.  The writing was excellent and clearly the people responsible for the script got what was important for both the original series, and a successful reboot.  The action was first rate, the dialogue was snappy, of course the special effects were wonderful.

I grew up on the original series (and watched the first two spin-offs religiously), so I can’t say whether this will bring new viewers, but for me, it was a lot of fun and well worth the ticket price.
