It’s Mother’s Day. Yippee.
I’m celebrating Mother’s Day the way I always do. My son and husband are off doing whatever male bonding thing they care to engage in, and I’m on my own with a cup of coffee, my laptop, a book that needs reading and another that needs writing. For a few hours, I am responsible only for myself. I love being a mother. I love my husband and my son. I hate the day however, with all its corporately sponsored guilt and coercion.
I was actually going to rant about the subject, but Sarah Zettel has pretty much got my feelings about Mother’s Day nailed in her “Things That Don’t Go Away” column this week.
